Where is Mammoth Mountains?

How far of drive is it?
It's approximately 380 miles from Los Angeles, but takes about 5 hours driving.

Can I fly to Mammoth?
Yes, Horizon Air now offers flights from LAX, San Jose, Reno, Portland and Seattle. Horizon Air is partnered with Alaska Airlines along with several others Click here for more information. You can also use a flight consolidator like sidestep.com or expedia.com to search for flights, Mammoth Lakes airport code is MMH.


Transportation

Will transportation be provided to Mammoth?
We are offering a package option in which transportation will be provided on a deluxe motor coach. We ask that you keep in mind that space is limited and based on first come, first serve, so if you wish to be a passenger, be please sure to select the correct package.

At the same time, you are not obligated to accept transportation from us, which means that you are more than welcome to drive. If you choose this option, we will do our best to make sure that you have all the correct directions and know where to check-in once you reach the mountain.

If you have your own transportation, you are more than welcome to drive to the mountain and park (which is free, but may require a short walk).

If I'm flying in from out of town, how should I arrange my flights?
We advise that you arrive on Thursday, February 25th, and plan to depart Los Angeles on Monday, March 1st. If you try to arrive/leave on the days of travel, it is possible that you will miss either your bus or your plane.

What time will the buses be leaving Los Angeles, and from where?
We have arranged for 2 bus departure times in order to accommodate those who can't leave earlier in the day. Three (3) buses will be leaving 9:30am, and one (1) bus will be leaving at 5pm. Please keep in mind that space is very limited on the 5pm bus.

What are we allowed to bring on the bus?
You are allowed to bring food and beverages, personal entertainment (music, dvd, laptops, etc.), games, reading material, and one (1) small personal bag. All other luggage will be stowed in the below luggage area.

What time will the buses be leaving Mammoth Sunday, and where from?
All the buses will be leaving Mammoth Lodge at 3pm, sharp, and will not wait for anyone.

On departure day should I take my luggage to the Lodge with me?
It's up to you, however, the buses will be stationed outside your hotel and available for loading luggage from 11am. However, please know that will be responsible for loading your luggage onto the buses.

Rooming

Does the rate I'm paying get me my own room?
No. The rate that you pays guarantees you a bed within the lodge. In many cases in order to accommodate roommates you may be sharing a bed with your requested roommate.

How will rooming be assigned?
When you register, you will be asked who your roommate is - just state the name(s), and make sure they state yours.

If you do not have a preselected roommate, when you fill out your registration form, we will ask you questions, which will let us know what type of people to pair you up with ( gender, age, interests, etc.).

Can I reserve a whole cabin?
Of course! Click here for current rates, and you can put as many (or few) people in your cabin as you want. It's great for a group of friends who want to go, and will just split the costs.

How can I get my own room?
Pay for the standard trip package rate plus an additional upgrade fee. This will guarantee you a standard hotel room with bath, and most importantly….your privacy.

What if I want a single room, but can't afford it right now?
In order to ensure you have a spot on your preferred bus departure time, we advise that you pay for your package as soon as possible. When you have the money available to upgrade, please let us know your, and if there is still availability, we will gladly upgrade your room status.

How many people can sleep in one (1) condo?
All cabins are setup to accommodate anywhere from 6 to 8 individuals.

How many people can sleep in standard room?
Standard rooms either have 1 or 2 beds and can accommodate 2 to 4 persons depending on the number of beds in that room.

Do all rooms have a kitchen?
No, only the condos and suites have kitchens.

We will sell trip packages until they sell out.

Are lift tickets and ski/snowboarding equipment included in this price?
No. You will responsible for all costs outside of travel, accommodations, and events. Those outside costs include mountain activities, food and beverages, shopping, etc. Lift tickets currently start at $69, click here for rates on current lift tickets

What if I don't ski/snowboard?
You may want to take lessons at Mammoth and try out a new sport, click here for lessons. If you decide not to take up the sport, there are plenty of activities if you don't ski. For other winter activities including; snowmobiles, snowcat tours and gondola rides click here. What if I plan to arrange my own travel and accommodations, but would like to participate in your events?
You are more than welcome to purchase an events package for $50 or pay cash at the door (prices still to be determined).

Is the trip refundable?
No. However, it is transferable, meaning that you are no longer able to attend, you are more than welcome to sell your package. All we ask is that you inform us of who will be taking your place and you have them contact us, so that we can gather some required information.

Below is a list of suggested items to bring:

Skis/Snowboards (also availabe for rental on Mammoth Mountain)
Waterproof shoes
Gloves, Hats and Scarves
A heavy Coat
Snow-wear (Ski pants, thermal shirt, sweaters/sweatshirts, snow socks, etc)
Sunglasses/shades (if the sun reflects of the snow, it is very bright)
Sunscreen (if you are not properly covered, the sun reflecting off the snow can cause sunburn)
Party attire
Anything else that you can think of…..
